Hello and welcome to Summers Translation!
My name is Eleanor Summers and I’m a UK-based Japanese to English translator specialising in manga and other entertainment. I've been a fan of Japanese media ever since I was a teenager, when a friend persuaded me to accompany them to the new anime club at school. I got my BA in Japanese Studies from the University of Oxford in 2016, then entered and won the international Manga Translation Battle Vol.5, and I’ve been translating manga pretty much ever since!
This was originally my translation blog, where I posted my practice translations of old tales, articles, and some other bits and pieces, but it fizzled out when life got busy. In fact, I still have several half-translated tales that never quite made it here. Maybe I’ll finish them one day… In the meantime, this blog is somewhat under construction.
